REPRO FREE16 March 2013 – The iconic Christ the Redeemer statue overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil turned green last night, kicking off this weekend’s St Patrick’s celebrations around the world. This ‘greening’ is part of a global initiative by Tourism Ireland which will also see the Pyramids of Giza, Anfield stadium in Liverpool, the London Eye, Niagara Falls, the Little Mermaid statue in Copenhagen, the Sydney Opera House, the Kingdom Tower in Saudi Arabia, the Gateway of India in Mumbai and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, as well as a host of other landmarks and sites around the globe, turn a shade of green this weekend.
